Quick Changes:
Show #1 - All dancers should have at least 2 number to change except for dancers changing from Cupid to Saba.
Show #2 and #3 - Some dancers may only have 1 number to change between routines. Please have your dancers prepared for their quick changes! Thank you for understanding. There is limited space in the change rooms - please avoid bringing rack and rolls unless absolutely needed.
Hair:
Hair stays the same for the entire show. There are no hair changes.
Show #1 - High, curly pony.
Show #2 and #3 - High bun, no part. (No hat for Scallywags or Grease Lightning.)

Tickets are selling fast. Purchase your tickets online now!
Reminder – As per registration, all dancers enrolled in full year performance classes will participate in the year end recital. 
A mandatory event fee of $25 will be charged to every dancer registered in a performance class whose family does not buy a ticket.
Tickets are general seating and cost $25.00 per person- click here to purchase tickets through your online SBS account. Children under the age of 2 are free if they sit on the knee of a parent. Make sure to get a ticket for your child from the Ticket Sales Desk at SBS by June7th. 
Important Ticket Information - Online printed receipts need to be exchanged for a physical ticket at SBS Ticket Desk prior to the event. You will need a physical ticket to get into the Dow theatre.  A SBS representative will be available at the studio for exchange of printed receipts from 5:00pm-7:00pm Monday through Friday and Saturday’s from 10:00am-1:00pm starting May 24th - June 7. 
It is the responsibility of the online account holder to ensure that NO DUPLICATE receipts are printed.  Step by Step will not be held accountable to provide additional tickets to anyone other than the primary account holder.

DANCE POOL PARTY!
The Dance Parent's Association is ecstatic to once again be hosting the Step by Step Year End Pool Party!!!! Come and celebrate an exceptional dance year with the entire Step by Step community!

Date: June 4,2022 Time: 7:00-10:00
Mini-Gym and Party Room 8:00-10:00
Pool Location: Kinsman Leisure Centre, 2001 Oak St, Sherwood Park

Parents/Guardians may pick up tickets for this event May 24-27 from 5:00-7:00 or May 28 10:00-1:00 and sign a waiver. Attendance is free, but a ticket is required to attend.
1) Pool tickets - - for those planning to go in the water - immediate dance family members only - children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult in the water - 250 tickets available
2) Non-swim ticket - mini gym and party room - pool viewing area - mini gym is for kids 6 and under only, socks or clean indoor shoes required

• Show #1 – 12:00pm-1:00pm - Preschool, Junior 1 and Junior 2.

           Lobby is open at 11:00 am. Theatre doors open at 11:30

• Show #2 – 3:00-4:15-pm – Junior 3, Junior 4 and Junior 5, Int. 1

           Lobby is open at 2:00pm. Theatre doors open at 2:30

• Show #3 – 6:00-7:30pm – Int. 2, 3, 4, Pre-Advanced, Advanced and Awards

           Lobby is open at 5:00pm. Theatre doors open at 5:30
The line up is attached.  Please review the line up to ensure that your dancer has at least 2 numbers between performances.  Email info@stepbystepdance.ca for any corrections concerning time for costume changes.
Tickets - General Seating
Ticket prices are: $25.00 per person- click here to purchase tickets through your online SBS account. Go to the 3 bars on the top left of the screen and click on Showstoppers twice. You can then select the show and the number of tickets. This price includes all Service Charges and GST.   Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, May 17th.  Tickets will not be sold at the studio.

Drop Off and Pick Up
Show #1
Dancers should arrive 1 hour early and meet their teachers and supervisors at the Lion’s Banquet Hall. (Located in the Dow Center). Parents will say goodbye to their dancer and the volunteer will take care of them and take them backstage for their performance. Dancers should have their costume and make-up on and have gone to the bathroom before arrival.  Parents will keep extra shoes, coats, dance bags etc.  It is VERY important that you arrive on time. 
After the finale, the groups will be brought back to the Lion’s Banquet Hall. You can pick them up there.   
Show #2 and #3
Dancers should arrive 1 hour early, go to the dressing rooms to get organized and proceed to the Lion’s Room for rehearsal.  Space is limited, pack light. 
Hair For Recital
Show #1 - Preschool/Jr.1/Jr.2 – High curly ponytail.
Show #2 and #3 - Jr. 3 and up, Beginner and Experienced – Slick Back High Bun – no part.
Make-Up - Stage make-up with red lipstick.  Rhinestone earrings.
Attendance - Showstoppers is the highlight of our year!  The dancers have worked so hard all year and the team effort can’t be emphasized enough.  Participation has been outlined since September.  Please show respect to your teachers and fellow classmates by attending.  If for some reason your dancer is not able to attend, please advise your teacher immediately so that choreography can be changed. 
Awards - A variety of awards will be announced at the end of Show #3.  The awards vary from Step By Step dance scholarships, summer school scholarships, and gift certificates to encourage further dance studies.  If your dancer is not in show 3 and is receiving an award, we will contact the parents in advance.  
Flowers – A variety of colourful bouquets will be available in the lobby for you to purchase for your special dancer for $10 and $15each. Cash only.  With half the proceeds going to the Families of Ukrainian Relief Fund.

Showstoppers Lineup

Hello SBS Families,

Picture Week Schedule is attached.

Class pictures are coming up on Tuesday, May 24 - Monday, May 30. Peter Koop from Icabod Productions Inc. will be coming to take our pictures. An email from Icabod Productions will be sent out AFTER all the pictures have been taken. You will be able to view all your pictures and see your ordering options then.

All regular classes have been cancelled during Picture Week. Please note your picture times and date are different then their regular class time.

We ask that all students have their photo taken even if you do not intend to order any pictures. This is so that the dance school and other students who are ordering pictures can have a photo with everyone in it. We will be using these pictures on our website, advertising, and social media so please look your best!​

Hair for pictures:

• Ballet – Low ballet bun parted down the middle.
• Preschool/Jr.1/Jr.2 – High curly ponytail
• Jr. 3 and up, Beginner and Experienced – Low, straight ponytail with a middle part (for jazz/tap/lyrical/contemporary/hip-hop/acro/musical theatre.)

Make-up:

• Stage make-up with red lipstick.
• Jr. 1 and up false eyelashes are preferred.
• Rhinestone earrings.

Ballet Pictures for Jr.1 - Jr.5:

• Navy blue body suit, pink tights and pink ballet shoes.

Ballet Pictures for Intermediate, Pre Advanced and Advanced:

• There will NOT be picture for Intermediate, Pre. Adv. or Adv. ballet technique classes.
• There will be pictures for Pre-Point and Point classes. 

Acro:

• We will be taking pictures of all our Acro classes.
• Please wear all black and bare feet/bare lgs. - Black bodysuit or black top with black tight shorts.
• Low straight ponytail with a middle part.

Extra Choreography:

• Solos and duets can get their picture taken on Friday May 27 between 6:45 – 8:45pm.
• All extra choreography groups/trios have been incorporated into the schedule.

Picture Week Schedule - May 23-30

Welcome to registration for the 2022-2023 Season and Summer 2022!
Please read through this email for important information.

Full Year Registration 2022-2023
Registration fee - $50 per dancer
Please review the Tuition Fees for new pricing, and the Class/Program Requirements for a list of all mandatory classes for your dancer’s program.

Preschool (3yrs-5yrs,) Junior 1 (6yrs-7yrs,) Junior 2 (7yrs-8yrs), and Beginner classes (8yrs+) -  Registration is open for all classes for these levels on a first come first served basis. Baby Stars and Mini Stars registration is coming soon!
Jr. 3 classes – Existing SBS dancers are pre-approved for these classes. Dancers registering in Jr. 3 Lyrical must also be registered in Jr. 3 Jazz, Jr. 3 Ballet and Jr. 3 Stretch & Tech.
A-Level Classes - This stream of classes requires an assessment/audition for dancers qualify. The A program has mandatory class requirements. These dancers will compete in 3 competitions.
X-Level Classes - This is our most elite level program, which requires many mandatory classes and an increased amount of ballet and technique training. An audition is required to qualify for these classes. Dancers will compete in 4 competitions.
Teachers have assessed all existing dancers and placed them into programs they feel the dancer is best suited. If you would like to change/audition for a different program, please email the studio.

Summer 2022
July drop-in dance classes $15/class – Every week in July! For experienced dancers age 7+ (or who have completed Jr. 1.)
Preschool Dance Camp, $95 – Offered in July 12-14 and Aug 10-12. A morning of fun for dancers age 3-6!
Summer Dance Intensive, $295 - Aug 15-18, 9:30am-4:00pm. This dance camp is encouraged for all dancers age 6 and up (must have minimum Jr. 1 dance experience.) We are excited to offer a week of training with some of Canada’s top teachers!

DISNEY LAND - Summer 2023
We are planning a studio trip to Disney Land in Los Angeles, California next summer. Dancers age 9+ will get an opportunity to dance and train at Disney Land. Stay tuned for more information!
